The Isle of Man Academy of Television, Film and Theatre was established in October 2009, by Carl Parker and Colin Snell, with Academy Partners and Associates: Simon Powell (Writer, Producer & Director), Michelle Holmes ('Rita, Sue & Bob Too', ITV's 'Above Suspicion' and 'ex-Coronation Street'), William Ash ('Where The Heart Is', 'Clocking Off', the film 'Hush' and currently starring in 'Waterloo Road'), Anthony Crank (TV and radio presenter for C4 & MTV), Matthew Bannister (RADA graduate and tutor), Ex-Isle (Casting) and Friday Night Films.
Our aim is to develop skills and techniques for actors, writers, directors and producers through on-going workshops and master-classes taken by industry professionals ranging from television personnel to feature film-makers and theatre practitioners.
Our teaching is at the cutting edge of what is happening in the television and film industry today: acting for screen technique is taught and based on skills and techniques established by leading professionals of the television and film industry.
We aim to equip students with the necessary skills to audition for television, film, and theatre.
